Production process

We need to distinguish between the carvings and the mouldings:

a) Carvings:

The carvings are made of hardwood, mainly beech. They are machine-carved and subsequently embossed in metal forms. As the surface of the wood gets compressed through this embossing procedure, the wood isn’t waterproof. For this reason we disadvise using these items outdoors, such as for front doors and windows, for instance: for this purpose a selection of hand-carved items is available in our product range.

b) Mouldings and carved mouldings:

The mouldings and carved mouldings are machine-carved (so not embossed) and are also suited for outdoor use.
